method of biosuggestive therapy

for correction and treatment of psychosomatic disorders

What is the method of Biosuggestive Therapy

Biosuggestive Therapy (BST) is a patented method and effective tool used for reducing stress, anxiety, as well as correction and treatment of the whole list of psycho-somatic disorders: overall tension, fatigue, insomnia, frequent headaches, panic attacks, various types of spasms, digestive and joints problems, etc.

BST combines techniques of verbal and non-verbal suggestions, therapeutic contact of the therapist's palm with the client, as well as elements of guided meditation. Sessions can be held individually, with a group, or online.

The author of the BST method is Dr. Alexander Strashny, Europe and Internationally trained psychotherapist with 30 years of clinical practice. Dr. Strashny successfully treated more then 30,000 patients in Hungary, Ukraine and Austria.

Method of Biosuggestive Therapy

Volodymyr Voloshin.

Biosuggestive Therapy (BST) was created by Aleksandr Strashny to correct psychosomatic disorders. However, the range of its application is much wider than just psychosomatic disorders. Here are some of them: asthenia, chronic fatigue, feeling of internal tension, stress, anxiety, fear, irritability, memory loss, impaired concentration, sleep disturbances, headaches, blood pressure disorders, pains,  including pain of unknown origin, and so on. The list of all these violations is very large and, if you list them all, you may get the false impression that the BST corrects everything. In fact, this is not the case. Currently, there is no tool we know that would 100% correct everything. BST is aimed more at correcting the effects of stress that a person experiences throughout his life.

BST refers to the non-directive course of suggestion. That is, during the BST session we do not «turn off» human consciousness. Man sees everything, hears everything and completely controls his condition and the situation around him. A sense of control is very important for many people, especially those who have had a traumatic experience. During the session, the person enters a state of altered consciousness, a slight trance state. It is like riding a bus, a train, looking out the window and flying somewhere in your mind.

People enter a similar state when using other suggestive techniques. What then is the difference between BST and them? The highlight of BST is a successful combination of verbal and nonverbal elements of suggestion. During the BST session, the following is used: specially prepared text, touches to the human body, musical composition.

The text of the session is written in such a way as to minimize the criticality of the protective mechanisms of the psyche. It takes into account gender, age, socio-cultural and religious characteristics. There are currently translations of the text into more than 10 languages.

During the session, a specialist according to a certain algorithm touches the human body. Touch pursues more than 10 goals. Among them: keeping attention, strengthening the feeling of security, etc.

The musical composition is selected in such a way that during the session it takes a person through different emotional states. That is, it provides an opportunity to release certain emotions and expand the «everyday» range of emotions and so on.

The whole session of BST, after careful preparation, the specialist records in the recording studio. This is necessary in order to convey maximally the tone and overtones of the voice of the specialist when he is in optimal condition. In addition, during the session, the sound recording of the specialist’s voice is heard from one fixed place. This greatly enhances the effect of relaxation, as a person does not need to conform all the time to changing the source of the voice in space.

By the method of BST it is possible to correct the patient’s condition individually and in a group. At correction in a group efficiency of therapy increases.

Any method has its own contraindications. In BST they are acute psychosis, excessive agitation, alcohol and drug intoxication.

BST is a relatively young method and until 2014, it was not used in Ukraine. Now more than 500 specialists have been trained in the BST method.

BST is intensively used in the rehabilitation of people who have experienced severe stressful events, for military man, migrants.

BST has shown a high efficiency in the treatment of PTSD. BST does not treat PTSD but works quite effectively with symptoms: sleep disorders, unstable psycho-emotional state. High efficiency is shown by use of BST at PTSD when individual trauma-focused therapy and in parallel group sessions of BST are conducted.

In recent years, a number of studies were conducted in Ukraine on the effectiveness of BST in the correction of various issues.

Benefits of BST

+ The method is highly efficient: 95% of patients respond positively. Most patients begin to feel the effect of therapy very quickly - after the first or second session.
+ The whole course of therapy usually requires no more than 8 sessions.
+ The specialist can use BST as a supplement to other methods.
+ It takes only two days to study the BST method.
+ Biosuggestive therapy sessions have a therapeutic effect not only on the patient but also on the therapist.

How this method works

The individual conversation is structured in such a way that the patient's neurotic pattern is broken and replaced by a pattern of well-being.

During the biosuggestive session, the therapist's voice, accompanied by background music, is heard in the audio recording. The therapist touches patients in a certain rhythm.

Feedback from specialists

Serhii Grinvald
President of the Eastern European Association of Hypnotherapists and Clinical Psychologists.

After getting acquainted with Biosuggestive Therapy, I realized that it is really an author's method, and not a "reinvented bicycle" - in contrast to 99% of "methods" that are positioned as "unique", "author" and obtained by "enlightenment".

Anna Kozhina

Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology of the Kharkiv National Medical University.

The method of Biosuggestive Therapy, considering its universality, the possibility of online work and high efficiency in the therapy of neurotic conditions, is very useful, especially during of long-term quarantine.

Olena Gubska
Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Head of the Department of Therapy at the Institute of Postgraduate Education of NMU, Scientific director of the Institute of Biosuggestive Therapy.

In my clinical practice, there are always many patients with psychosomatic disorders. When I use the BST method, I realized the opportunity to help them more, and I am happy to do it. So I have great results. I'm in love with this method! Feedback from people is pouring in!

Marina Litvinchuk

medical doctor, Head of Adonis Therapeutic departments, lecturer at Kyiv Medical University.

I consider the BST method to be more effective for the treatment of psycho-somatic diseases than traditional ones with the use of pharmacotherapy. The result is much faster and more stable, which enables patients to stop the endless search for a doctor and a method of treatment that will help them.

 Scientific verification

The BST method was tested at five universities.

Conclusion: "After the biosuggestive therapy, 92.9±4.0% of patients felt an improvement in their condition."

The results of  verification were published in medical and psychological journals.

Training for doctors, psychologists, coaches, healers

The BST training course is usually held 16 hours - for 8 hours on Saturday and Sunday. The two-day cycle allows the listener to learn the method completely and then use it in a practice.

From 2014 to 2023, the BST method was mastered by more then 500 specialists. The next training course is planned to be held in Munich, London or online.
